During my recent road trip in southern Thailand, I had the opportunity to do an activity that I absolutely loved – feeding elephants at Khao Lak Elephant Home near Khao Lak. I have always been a fan of elephants and this experience made me fall in love with these majestic creatures even more. Usually when I go on trips to different provinces, I search on Google to see if there are any elephant farms or villages nearby where I can feed them. And this place is one of my favorites so far! If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend visiting Khao Lak Elephant Home to feed the elephants. It’s an incredible experience that you won’t want to miss!

ขับรถคลานเข้ามาจากถนนใหญ่ ถึง Elephant ประมาณเกือบ 10นาทีครับ ค่อนข้างลึกอยู่ แต่ถ้าใครขับพวก off road ก็น่าจะประมาณ 5นาที ได้ครับ

We have arrived! I saw many elephants inside the area. The Elephant Home is quite spacious with an area of approximately 900 rai, as I saw in the rough information. The elephants can live here comfortably and have plenty of food to eat all the time. It’s a great place to be!
ก่อนหน้าผมมีนักท่องเที่ยวที่เข้ามาติดต่ออยู่ เท่าที่ยืนต่อคิวอยู่นั้น ก็พอจะทราบว่า เค้ามาทำกิจกรรมอาบน้ำกับน้องช้าง ถ้าได้ยินไม่ผิด ค่าใช้จ่ายตกคนละ 3,000.- บาท มั้งนะครับ ทำกิจกรรมกับน้องช้างประมาณ 2 หรือ 4 ชั่วโมง อันนี้จำไม่ได้ครับ แต่ก็ถือว่าคุ้มแหละ ส่วนผม ขอให้อาหารน้องช้างแทนแล้วกัน .. ฮาาาา

The first set of food is gone, so I went to buy two more sets of the large size to give to the mother and baby elephants. They were so cute and even said goodbye before I left. Haha, it was so adorable!
Khaolak Elephant Home is a 900 RAI (1,440,000 m²) elephant rehabilitation and retirement home in Khao Lak. The home was started in 2018 by Ching and his friend, a mahout who owned several elephants and was looking for a quiet place where they could live.

หลังจากให้อาหารน้องช้างเรียบร้อย ก็ขับรถเข้าไปด้านในต่อ เพราะที่ริมหาด มีร้าน Better Surf Thailand ที่มีสอนเล่น Surf อยู่ด้วยครับ .. และที่สำคัญ อยากแวะเข้าไปดูของที่ Rip Curl ซักหน่อย เห็นว่ามี shop ขึ้นอยู่ใน google map ว่า RIPCURL Memories beach อยู่ด้วยครับ
After feeding the baby elephants, I drove further into the area because there is a Better Surf Thailand shop that offers surfing lessons near the beach. And most importantly, I wanted to check out the Rip Curl shop a bit, which I saw on Google Maps as “RIPCURL Memories beach” located there.
ตอนไปถึง ติดพักเที่ยงพอดี เลยต้องรอประมาณบ่ายโมง กว่าพนักงานจะมาครับ ก็เลยเดินเล่นแถว Better Surf Thailand , Memories Beach Khaolak ไปก่อน เพราะคนที่มาที่นี่ ค่อนข้างเยอะเลย ส่วนใหญ่จะเป็นชาวต่างชาติทั้งนั้น
When I arrived, it was just about noon so I had to wait for about half an hour until the staff arrived. So, I walked around and explored the area near Better Surf Thailand and Memories Beach Khaolak first since there were quite a lot of people here, mostly foreigners. I wanted to kill some time before going to Rip Curl.
หาดค่อนข้างกว้างมากครับ แดดเปรี้ยงเลยยยย แต่ฟ้าใสสุดๆ ตอนเย็นๆ น่าจะมีชาวต่างชาติเยอะพอสมควร เพราะตรงที่ผมยืนถ่าย ก็มีร้านอาหารที่ออกเป็นแนว bar อยู่ด้วยครับ ชื่อว่า Memories Beach Bar ครับ .. คะแนนใน Google ดีเลยทีเดียว
The beach is really wide, and the sun is scorching hot! But the sky is clear and blue. In the evening, there were quite a lot of foreigners around, probably because where I stood to take pictures, there was a restaurant that looks like a bar called Memories Beach Bar. Its rating on Google is really good.
ริมหาดก็จะมีที่นอนไว้ให้อาบแดดกันด้วยครับ มีร่มสีสวยๆ .. แล้วก็มีจุดนั่งสำหรับ life guard อยู่ด้วย
On the beachfront, there are sunbeds available for sunbathing, and beautiful colored umbrellas. Additionally, there are designated spots for lifeguards to sit.

สำหรับใครที่แวะมาที่ จังหวัดพังงา หรือ แถวโซนตะกั่วป่า ก็ลองแวะไปหาน้องช้าง ที่ Khao Lak Elephant Home เพื่อให้อาหารช้างกันดูนะครับ หรือหากใครอยากลองอาบน้ำกับน้องช้าง ก็สามารถทำได้ด้วยเช่นกัน .. ผมเองก็อยากลองอยู่เหมือนกัน แต่น่าจะต้องเอาไว้รอบหน้านะ ฮาาาา
For those who visit Phang Nga province or the area near Khao Sok National Park, you should visit Khao Lak Elephant Home and feed the elephants. If you want to experience bathing with elephants, it’s also possible here. I myself would love to try it, but maybe I have to save it for next time. Hahaha.
